Meet Hoku, a shy, chocolate-coloured little horse. Hoku is not happy at all. He is hungry, thirsty and has no friends. He has nothing at all but hope. Along comes Hiro, a clever little horse with a golden mane. Hiro is not happy either. He is sad, hurt and not feeling very well. He has nothing at all but courage. But things are not looking good for Hoku and Hiro. They are stuck in a filthy pen in an disgraceful place. No one can find their owners and a greedy butcher awaits. How will they ever escape?
