Summer 1994. Lefki Ora Mountains, Crete. Starring Sam, me and a young cat who befriended us, this short film tells the story of my childhood soft-toy friend, Henry Seahorse. It reveals how children intuitively know things that have never been spoken. Filmed hand-held on my 16 mm Beaulieu. I remember Sam stopping the scooter so that I could re-load the camera in the darkness of a church. The mirror footage was the beginning of what was to become a much greater project, and a significant part of our lives. I still have Henry Seahorse.
Selected for New Foundland and Namur International short film festivals.
