March 2012. Our home on a remote hillside Italy. The forest is waking up after a long, hard winter. As the trees unfold their leaves, Sam Orlando Miller begins a new mirror work. He has many greens to organise. He works by hand and eye; ordering, cutting and numbering what goes where. Untitled Mirror 5 emerges with a patina of counting, shifts of emerald, and uncertain reflections. Gazing into its depths, the world appears transformed. The film gives a glimpse of how this work was created.
